Cooper includes southern New Jersey’s only Level I trauma center (Cooper University Hospital), which is the busiest trauma center in the Philadelphia region. Everything from contrast dye, to tubing, to medical devices with embedded semiconductor chips would suddenly become difficult to source.

Most of the major van markets actually had fewer outbound loads available, though, and most regular freight heading to Houston was canceled. Dallas rates also soared, as some freight was diverted to that busy freight hub. The national average van rate jumped up 12¢ to $1.90 RISING LANES. FALLING LANES.
